axomera
Heel spur

We treat the painful point at the heel — not the shadow in the X-ray.

The first step in the morning is the worst. As a reference centre for Axomera therapy, we localise the painful point under the heel — usually at the plantar fascia, not the spur itself — and treat it bioelectrically, without cortisone.

For four months, violent stabbing in the left heel, severely impaired when walking. X-ray, insoles, and shock wave had only minimally helped. After two Axomera treatments, the pain improved after a few days, around two weeks later the complaints had subsided.

Clinical picture

The spur is usually the consequence, not the cause.

Heel pain — usually a plantar fasciitis at the tendon insertion under the heel — arises predominantly from overuse; the heel spur visible in the X-ray is often a consequence, not a cause.

Typical is the stabbing start-up pain in the morning and after standing or walking for a long time.

Patients

What patients report.

Typical findings

From our patient consultations and the medical reports submitted.

  • Complaints for usually 4 to 12 months
  • More than 2 to 3 doctors consulted — no lasting improvement
  • Stabbing start-up pain under the heel, especially in the morning
  • Intensification after standing and walking for a long time, often work-related
  • Trigger: Overuse or incorrect loading
Previous therapy

Almost always in this order.

  1. Stretching exercises (calf and plantar fascia)
  2. Insoles & gel cushions
  3. Painkillers (NSAIDs)
  4. Shock wave
  5. cortisone injection
  6. Surgery (rare, only after 6–12 months)

Often accompanying: acupuncture.

Where we make the difference

Insoles and shock wave therapy often take months until an effect occurs, and cortisone injections at the plantar fascia carry a risk of rupture.

Axomera for heel spur and plantar fasciitis.

At the insertion of the plantar fascia on the heel bone, chronic overuse maintains the disturbed tendon remodelling without healing following — the bony spur itself is usually only an accompanying finding, not the cause of pain. The insertion point lies directly under the sole of the foot skin and is precisely accessible from the outside.

Axomera starts at this fascia insertion: computer-controlled electrical signals in the dimension of cellular electrical fields are placed with millimetre precision at the insertion site. The goal is to shift the disturbed tendon remodelling back in favour of a resilient fascia structure.

Our approach

How we proceed with you.

Every therapy needs its own examination — for us, this includes the Axomera diagnostics and the Axomera therapy.

Axomera diagnostics
  1. Secure the diagnosis and check the influence of taken medication
  2. Millimetre-precise examination — localising pain points at the fascia insertion and heel (distinguishing plantar fascia vs. heel spur)
Axomera therapy
  1. 4–6 Axomera treatments, targeted at these points
  2. Goal: significant reduction of pain with healing.
  3. In favourable courses: pain-free standing and walking in everyday life,

Aims & course of treatment. We cannot guarantee a specific result — the progression is individual. Depending on the course of the condition, fewer or more treatments may be required.

Developed from cell physiology, Axomera acts precisely at the tissue of the sole of the foot — one level deeper than insoles, shock wave, and cortisone, at the bioelectric control of tendon remodelling and healing; without cortisone.

Patients report

Individual cases.

Case 1 / 2
For one year, heel pain on the right; as a teacher, standing was hardly possible, recently only with crutches. Insoles, medication, injections, and multiple shock waves had not helped; the MRI showed a bone marrow oedema and signs of inflammation at the plantar fascia. I received six Axomera treatments. After the second treatment, it got better. Now I can walk pain-free again.
